Mark Elkins is a fine art wedding and portrait photographer based in Atlanta, Georgia. He takes a non-traditional approach, focusing on intimacy, emotions, and the connections that tie you and your family and friends together.

When I spoke with Alison and John so many months ago, they insisted on fall shots for their engagement session. No problem there. We definitely got ‘em. In fact, I think every single one of my recent engagement sessions has been influenced by this years wicked fall colors.

They’ll be getting married on the 14th of December (less than a month!) in Toccoa, Georgia.

The following two shots took place in a field-ish area that was infested with ladybugs. Like…really infested. I don’t think any of us could decide whether it was cute…or just plain weird.

As usual, things are staying pretty busy. Understatement. PLENTY of stuff the post in the coming weeks. I just need to find the time to do it. Tomorrow afternoon I’ll be driving down to Athens to spend the weekend celebrating Chelsea and Jeremy’s wedding, and as soon as I get back I’ll be posting some of the images from Alison and John’s engagement session.

I know. I know. Jackie and I are slackers in some areas :) I can’t believe that deciding on the details of our honeymoon was one of them. But now that it’s more than two months after our wedding, and one day away from our departure…I’m really glad we made the choices we did, and didn’t go two months ago. It’s definitely a much needed eye of the storm.

So here’s the deal. I’m not going to respond to/send any emails this week. Or answer calls. And I’m holding myself to it. You guys can keep those inquiries coming in, though, but I likely won’t be able to read them or respond to them until November the 10th (at the earliest).

When we return, Jackie and I will get right back into the mix with Hope and Wesley’s wedding on the 8th, and an engagement session with Emily and Ian on the 9th (also my Birthday!). Then I’ll hopefully be able to post some images from John and Alison’s recent engagement session.

Crazy.

Ryan and Michelle are pretty darn cool. We met up with them near Piedmont Park in downtown Atlanta, and decided to trudge through town on foot and grab some good shots. They’ll be getting married this January in Tennessee, so keep your eyes peeled for their wedding photos in the coming months.
