Audrey and Zane

When I first met Audrey and Zane last year they mentioned a sunrise and a giant field and I was hooked. I have to say we were definitely not disappointed!

I don’t even know where to begin with all the effort and love that went into making this wedding happen. The beautiful field that Audrey and Zane held the ceremony in is Audrey’s grandfather’s, where her parents were also married many years ago. The walkways were mowed into the field and had to be cut every week for several weeks, and led to a beautiful solitary tree in the middle. It was definitely a long walk to get to the ceremony site but well worth it. Audrey’s grandfather told us all about how Audrey use to bale hay with him in that field!

Audrey got ready in her grandfather’s house, doing her own hair and makeup. She told me she didn’t want to look any different than she usually did…just like herself, only in a gorgeous white gown. She’s got this beautiful, kind spirit that just shines. Her dress was made by an aunt (who also made two bridesmaids dresses and the absolutely adorable flower girl (or feather girl…as you’ll see shortly) dresses. Like the rest of the wedding day, the dress was accented with feathers!

Audrey and Zane opted for a first look and lots of time for pictures before the ceremony. Yay! Zane could not stop smiling when he saw Audrey and even though the sky was overcast there was no way that was getting anyone down.

After roaming around with the Audrey and Zane, guests started to arrive and make the trek to the ceremony site. There were a few sprinkles on and off during the ceremony but no one minded at all. All the umbrella’s just added that extra little pizazz. Audrey had feathers thrown down the aisle instead of flowers which was so cute. During the ceremony Audrey and Zane cracked open eggs which held their rings inside. Seriously, how creative can you get?

After the Ceremony all the guests walked through another cut path in the field, across the street to the reception. This place is gorgeous! Zane told us that before they got started and when they began toying with the idea of having the wedding here that the whole place was just loaded with unwanted junk. They did an amazing job clearing the land and letting the natural beauty of it all shine through. All the details were amazing. They actually had live chickens in one of the barns! Tons of hand painted signs and, no joke, the most beautiful outhouse I’ve ever seen. Audrey’s dad made it! The catering company did a wonderful job and the brunch buffet was delicious. And the cake! It was covered in coconut flakes to look like feathers and besides being gorgeous it was one of the best cakes I have ever tasted.

Despite the pending rain, the entire day was thoroughly enjoyable, and I was incredibly honored to be a part of it.
