It’s wedding time! :)

August 21st, 2008

Dearest friends and lovebirds,

Just letting you all know that as of this point in time I either won’t have (or won’t be allowed to have) a lot of internet access. Jackie and I are spending the next couple of days moving in to our new place, hanging out with friends and family, and just getting plain excited about Saturday.

Please please please don’t think I’m ignoring you if you don’t get a response to one of your inquires! If things start to settle down, I should be able to starting answering them sometime next week.

The next time you hear from me I’ll be a married man :)

Much love from both Jackie and I.

More to come in the future. But you probably won’t hear anything from me in about a week or so…because I’m only THREE days away from getting married :)

Rebecca and Seth - Wedding Session

August 15th, 2008

Rebecca and Seth are both from New Zealand, and had a small ceremony in Atlanta with just a couple of friends since their family lives overseas. So after the ceremony, I met up with them and we spent a few hours shooting in one of the small parks near Emory University.

It shows that if there isn’t a need for full-blown wedding coverage, a little creative post-wedding session is a GREAT alternative :) Here are a few of the favorites!

It won :)

Thanks to everyone who voted. Your support, encouragement, and kindness will never be taking for granted. You guys are all super awesome! Really.

And a special thanks to Stephanie and Martin for giving me the opportunity to capture such a super smokin’ image. I couldn’t have done it without you two.

It looks like I’m going to be shooting a wedding alongside Jose Villa! Unreal :)

On a side note, I’ve got plenty of stuff to post in the next couple of weeks, so keep your eyes open. Oh yeah…and I’m getting married in 12 days.

Life. Is. Great.

Vote!

August 6th, 2008

Guys. I’m not sure how many of you know of Jose Villa, but he’s one of the top 10 wedding photographers out there right now. His work is absurdly good.

Anyways, about a month ago I submitted an image (seen above: featuring Stephanie and Martin from their engagement session) into a “backlit image” contest, and that image was one of the top four images selected by [b]ecker. Becker is a huge figure in the wedding photography world, and has been such a great influence and mentor to many many many photographers out there.

Now it’s up to the general public to vote on the winner out of the four remaining images. And the winner get’s to shoot a wedding alongside Jose Villa! Crazy :)

So do it, already. Vote! But vote for your favorite, of course.

Lauren and Daniel - Engagement Session

July 31st, 2008

Lauren and Daniel are pretty much one of the funniest couples. Ever. Jackie and I really enjoyed spending time with them last week. It’s a shame I won’t be there for their wedding. It seems everyone in the universe wants to get married on the 20th of September, and I can only be one place at a time!

I’ll be doing a bridal session with Lauren in the near future, but you guys won’t see the results till after the 20th :)

Hope everyone’s plans are coming together. As always, I’m here to help.

Much love.

Gettin’ Fresh

Those of you who frequent this site may have noticed a little change overnight. As I’m evolving in the industry, so must everything that represents both me as a person and my work…including this little website :)

As far as visual changes go…I needed something a little cleaner, darker, and more versatile to better showcase a wider variety of my work. It’s essential that the visual aspect of my site doesn’t distract from the subjects and emotions in the individual images. Also, because my work is evolving, so must my method of presentation. So this is what I came up with :)

The galleries don’t exist any more…but there should be new ones in the near future.

Hope you enjoy…and much love,
Mark
